Family Ministry School (FMS)

Family Ministry School

The purpose of the school is to train you to set up seminars, camps, and family ministry programs in your nation and equip you to counsel couples and families.

The FMS focuses on eight core sections:

1. World View of Family/Biblical Foundations - To give students an understanding of the biblical view of marriage and family life.

2. The Marriage Relationship - To give students basic instruction and input regarding the marriage relationship. To equip students in the use of a premarital preparation tool.

3. A Marriage Seminar - To equip students with a marriage seminar package.

4. Parenting Issues - To give students basic, introductory, biblical material regarding parenting issues.

5. A Parenting Seminar - To equip students with a parenting seminar.

6. Family Systems - To introduce the students to the concept of family systems counseling and basic family systems tools.

7. Counseling Techniques and Skills - To introduce students to basic counseling skills and techniques.

8. The Role of the Family in Ministry - To train families to minister together and to fulfill their destiny in ministry and missions.

FMS

It is possible to do a two months field assignment following the lecture phase in order to integrate previous classroom studies with practical service application. Students serve on teams which conduct marriage and parenting seminars, and also help in planning and conducting family camps. They participate in a limited amount of supervised family counseling throughout the program. For students with families, the field assignment affords opportunities for the family to minister together as a team.

What students say...

Was worth the time and money

The investment of time and money was definitely worth it. Families should hear and apply these topics early on.

I have received so much!

FMS is very broad and gives you much information in the area of family and marriage. Personally I have received much and could apply a lot practically.

I grew more into my calling and destiny

The FMS has helped me to grow more into my calling and destiny.

Invaluable toolbox

The FMS was a time of maturing personally, in our marriage and as family. It was a time of learning to understand myself and each other better. We received an extremely valuable toolbox for us as a couple and as family, but also to bless others.

We became a family team

We have learned to be a team as a family. We also got to know our personalities better and were encouraged to invest specifically into individual families or relationships.

Tools to serve your family and others

Do an FMS! During the three months you will get tools that will serve your family, but also others.

Twelve precious weeks

Excellent speakers and a warm community among the students turned the twelve weeks into a precious time. FMS is also great for parents of older children or even grandparents. I can also recommend it for your second half of life.

Even for grandparents...

Even grandparents can, should and even must learn!

Why did't I hear this earlier?

I wonder why I had to turn 61 before hearing such good and important things. Much of it would have been important to know 40 years ago! It would have saved us a lot of trouble and energy. But thanks to God I could hear it now.

A MUST for every family!

This school is almost a „must“ for every family, whether they plan to be involved in family ministries or not. What we have learned has shaped our thinking and will definitely continue to shape our family life. We are so excited about the topic of „Family“ that surely other families around us will get affected.
