To transform families by biblical principles functioning in the churches and in societies of Eastern Europe.

The opportunity to serve families in are growing and more doors are opening right now. Social organizations are inviting Christian to come and do training for families. Churches are looking for people who can start family ministry in local churches in Eastern Europe.

Families that are affected by alcoholism are a great concern and area of need.

It is a big privilege to build a nation from the inside. There are always opportunities to transform families by seminars and other activities such as family camps and family clubs, seminars and courses, marriage preparation programs, etc. It all helps to bring His love and Biblical principles to the sphere of family.

We have discovered the that we can use today's media to bring truth to the nation. Internet, video, and magazine articles - those are things we are using to knock on people's hearts. One of the big projects that is on its way is a TV production, called "Let’s Talk About Family" that is planned to air soon.

Resource Center for Families in Simferopol

From the beginning the YWAM Simferopol Family Ministries Resource Center Project has desired to be a support for the whole family.  Much like Youth with a Mission's three-fold vision of Discipleship, Evangelism and Mercy Ministries, the store, library, and consulting office of our center focuses on three areas that are critical for families.

Physical needs

Our Family store meets a felt or physical need. New and used quality clothing, shoes, toys, and baby equipment are available at 50% less than that in other local stores.  It is also through the proceeds coming from the store, that we hope to - at least in part - finance the operation of the whole center.

Intellectual needs

Our reading room meets a intellectual need.  Children's books as well as family life books are available to purchase or borrow,  and give families the opportunity from a biblically based perspective, to learn about all aspects of family life.

Emotional and spiritual need

The last part of our center is a family consulting office.  This aspect of our ministry meets emotional and spiritual needs of the family.  It is a place for families in crisis to come and just share in a safe environment, what they are going through.  It's a place where families can receive Holy Spirit led ministry.  It's a place that we will be able to followup with individuals who have gone through a Ancient Paths or other seminar that we regularly run.  Through the office pre-engagement, pre-marital, and marriage counseling programs will be offered.  We hope that the family consulting office will not only be a place where people can go when they feel they have no where else to go, but a resource that families can look to to help strengthen their relationships.

Our goal is that each individual aspect of the center, will open the door for people to make use of the others, and that ultimately the Lord will use this ministry to bring families in Ukraine closer to living out God's right way for growing healthy families into a healthy nation!

The family ministry started in Ukraine from one couple - Yura and Tanya Sokolovsky - who got the vision from God during their Leadership Training School in Budapest in 1996. It was the beginning of a wonderful journey. The ministry has been serving since to many couples and families in Ukraine and post Soviet Union. Family camps, seminars, teaching, home groups, mentoring, marriage preparation and counseling are the tools we use to bring the light of God into people's life.

In 2004 a first FMS was done in Kiev with students from various nations.

A few families from that school started Family Ministries in Ukraine and other nations.

Our focus for the next 5 year is to spread the ministry to five nations in Eastern Europe (Russia, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Belarus, where it was started 2009) and to develop a ministry to families that influences society.

We are planning to have a Family Ministry School every few years and it is your chance to come to study or to come to serve as a staff.
