Ministry overview

Our plan at this time is to run a Family Ministry School every other year. In between these times we will continue to do seminars with the local people within YWAM and the churches.

History

In 2005 the leadership in YWAM Khon Kaen suggested to us (Man & Yung) to take the Family Ministries School (FMS) in Baguio City, Philippines. This was because our family relationships were not very strong at that time as this was affecting our minstry and yet no one knew about the troubles we were having.

After taking the FMS we saw how helpful this school was for us as husband and wife and as parents. Due to the huge change in our family relationships we felt that not only was this school good for us but also would be so helpful for many other Thai families.

After returning to Thailand in 2006 we began giving family and marriage seminars in different parts of Thailand within YWAM and the small local churches. However these topics were something very new for the Thai people and it has been very difficult to have couples come together for these. In 2008 we felt the Lord telling on us to return to Baguio City as a family and to staff the next FMS there with the hope of having a Family Ministries School in the near future in Thailand. Along with us we brought two single Thai YWAM ladies to take the school who would later become our first family ministries staff here in Khon Kaen Thailand.

In November 2009 we launched the very first YWAM Family Ministries School (with 7 students) and Family Foundations for Life Seminars (5 students). These two programs were run simultaneously and bi-lingual (Thai /English). Our students were from three nations Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines. YWAM Family Ministries Philippines staff came and helped us to pioneer this first school.
