Our Ministry Focus is to encourage the Taiwanese Christian Family, equipping them with Biblical resources and Godly family principles so that they can be a greater example of God’s love represented in their own families, churches and communities. To help and assist Taiwanese churches to reach out to their communities and beyond (China) with these resources so that they can approach the evangelistic process at the source and realize God’s passion to draw all people to himself. These purposes will be pursued by focusing on five main objectives:
To restore and reconcile, train, challenge and mobilize families.
The Family Ministry program formally took place in Taiwan in the spring of 2004 when Len and Debbie Fischer took their first Family Ministry School in Baguio City Philippines. The following year, 2005, Len and Debbie were staff for the FMS in Baguio City. After two successive Family Ministry Schools, in 2006, Len and Debbie pioneered their first Family Ministry School in Taiwan with the help of Family Ministry staff from FMS Baguio City. In the spring of 2007, Family Ministries Taiwan began the second Family Ministries School. In 2008, Family Ministries took a break from the school structure and toured Taiwan, mostly in the South, to share Family Ministry seminars in a family camp type of setting. The response from this approach was so encouraging that God began to give us a greater vision for a Resource Center type of approach to the ministry, where churches could be equipped with valuable family ministry resources and seminars. This concept also went to various locations in China and are currently working within that system. In 2009, Family Ministries had a school at the local YWAM base in Dan Shui Taiwan. With that school, 21 students graduated and are processing God’s plan for their lives with the new vision He has given to them about families and family relationships.
2010 will be a year of change for family ministries in Taiwan. Our goal is to reach out more to churches, especially churches that don’t have as much opportunity to receive resources as do the churches in the big cities. For the time being we are suspending family ministry schools and going more forward with a family resource center type of approach to our ministry.
