Long-term Goal:

To enable families in the Philippines and Asia to experience Biblical Family Life and to release families into "The Great Commission" of making disciples in the nations of the world. Our focus is to evangelize, restore, train, challenge and mobilize families.  It is our desire to see an expression of Family Ministries in every nation of Asia.

Short-Term Goals

• To continue reaching strengthening and training families through the following programs.
• Family Ministries School 
• Family Foundations for Life Seminars
• Family Seminars to the local church and community
• Student Sponsorship Ministry
• High School Ministry 
• Dental & Medical Missions

We have just finished pioneering the FMS and FFL in Khon Kaen Thailand in 2009-10. Yearly we continue to run the FMS here in Baguio City and have now also included the Foundations for Family Life Seminars (FFL) within this school.

Out of the first FMS we began a weekly children's club in a local squatter community which then led to the birthing of a Student Sponsorship Ministry which has continued to run over the past six years. To this day we send 30 children to school yearly and continue to disciple these families. Weekly we have classes within the high school reaching out to the youth and helping them to make right choices for their future. Many of our staff minister within the local churches as well doing seminars and discipleship with families.Many of our  FMS students are YWAM Philippines Staff so once they have completed their FMS they return to their places of ministry better equipped to reach out to the families they are working with.

Throughout the years from 1985-1995 God began in us ( Mel & Brenda Hilario) the desire to have a ministry such as family ministries in the Philippines. We were serving in YWAM Philippines within a variety of ministries, initially as singles, then as a couple and later as a family. During that time we witnessed the huge lack of teaching on family, marriage and parenting within the church, mission organization and the community around us. Our burden at that time was especially towards the needs of the families in ministry and especially for their need of a Biblical Model for their marriage and family.

In 1995 through the following scripture the Lord led us to enroll in the YWAM Family Ministries (FMS) School in Canberra Australia.

Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins
And will raise up the age-old foundations; 
You will be called Repairer of broken walls,
Restorer of streets with dwellings. "  

Isaiah 58:12

This school helped us tremendously and equipped us with teaching and tools for helping other families. In 1995 we returned to YWAM Philippines to begin pioneering family ministries. We began initially with seminars and reaching out to families in need and especially to those of the poorer communities. 

Then in 1999 the Lord asked us to begin laying the foundations for the very first YWAM Family Ministries School to be held in Asia.  On September 15 2001 with four FMS staff, 22 students, six child care staff & 35 children we launched the very first Family Ministries School to be held in Asia in Baguio City, Philippines. Through this first FMS God released to us Family Ministries Staff who helped to lay the foundations of many new initiatives for Family Ministries Philippines (FMP).  The first was a weekly childrens club in a poor community which led to the establishing of a student sponsorship ministry (SSM) which enables children from poor homes to go to school with dignity, this also includes regular parent & youth meetings, Other ministries begun were medical and dental missions , a high school ministry , and on going marriage and parenting seminars in many different churches and locations. Two other significant ministries for FMP was helping to pioneer the Taiwanese FMS in 2006 and in 2009 the Thailand FMS.
