For teaching, training and equipping in marriage, family and interpersonal relationships to enable people not only to survive but to thrive.

Family Ministries in Ireland comprises a three fold approach:

1. Teaching on Marriage, Family and Interpersonal Relationships, through seminars, courses, and weekends. Working not only in Christian settings, Derek and Trich believe that Family Ministries is an effective tool for evangelism. Most people want a good marriage and family life, but are not aware of their need for God. So they hold Marriage Weekends in hotels, Marriage Courses in restaurants, and teach on parenting in secular schools and colleges. They also serve on the Leadership team of Arrow Leadership Ireland, a two year programme for full time Christian Leaders.
2. Training in Family Ministry Schools, Counselling Schools, DTS’s, Family Camps, the Dodds travel to different nations to teach in YWAM training programmes.
3. Equipping couples and individuals for Marriage and Family Life, through pastoral prayer, counselling, and personal ministry.

Under the name Family Life Resources, YWAM’s Family Ministries in Ireland was established in 1999 by an Irish couple Derek and Trich Dodd.

Having worked with YWAM in Holland for 26 years, and being trained for Family Ministries in the University of the Nations in Kona, Hawaii during the eighties, the Dodds returned to Ireland to work both in and outside Ireland.
