Taiwan: John 3:16 reaches hearts of children

children camp

These past couple of days Debbie and I have had the privilege to participate in a Kid’s Camp lead by our son Chris and his wife, Jane.  The whole camp was focused on non-Christian participants with the goal of sharing the gospel and planting seeds of faith in their hearts.

There was a YWAM outreach team from Montana that helped us with the ministry. They were a valuable asset because of their youth and ability to relate to these children.
One of the events that really spoke volumes to me was the memorization of John 3:16. We divided the group of kids into teams with a member of the outreach team leading each group. Their job was to teach these Taiwanese kids John 3:16 in English. These children did a great job in learning this verse. But then the childrenwere told that they had to teach our American outreach team John 3:16 in Chinese. This really took the scripture deep into their own hearts. Before you knew it, the kids were rattling off this verse with no problem at all. Through the course of the 2-day camp, the message of salvation was shared. Some of the feedback we received was that the kids couldn’t wait until next year for the camp to come again.
Hopefully through these children God’s love can prosper in their families and there can be a Christian influence in the community.
