The idea is as simple as effective: offer an opportunity for fathers to spend a weekend away with their sons and you create an environment that allows them to have a great time together. Quality time between fathers and their children is something that has become rare in our times.

This year was the first time Vlado and his team from Family Ministry Slovakia had advertised a Father-Son Weekend and they were blown away by the overwhelming response they received. There were three times more fathers that wanted to come with their sons than they could take for this first weekend.

The team was supported by Rainer Salathe from Switzerland, who has already several years of experience with this kind of camp. Despite the less than perfect weather on the first September weekend - all participants evaluated this weekend as a great experience full of adventure, fun, challenges and a special time between dads and their sons. Many intend to return with their other children in the future.

For next year there are two weekends scheduled - one for fathers and their daughters and one for fathers and their sons again.
