The year Princess Diana married Prince Charles was the first time Derek went on outreach without the family. It was to be four week trip and in those days communication meant only a letter or a phone call, so waving him goodbye I felt very alone and quite vulnerable. With good reason, as it turned out, as difficult days (and nights) lay ahead!
The three of us sat together for a while, laughing at old photos, sorting out school reports and selecting which childhood drawings and paintings she wanted to keep. This was the final pack up before her wedding. It was the big goodbye. Had we equipped her for what lay ahead?
The bus drove away from the parking lot on the YWAM Base and we were off, full of excitement, full of hope and yes, quite some dread and fear as well. But we had no idea what we were getting into... An amusing but profound story of a young family that went on outreach together.
Of all the domains in the Kingdom of God, family is probably the most discussed and studied by Christians.
I grew up as part of a ministry team, serving and contributing throughout my growing upyears as my father and mother pastored churches in Canada and the USA. Loren was raised in the same way, doing ministry outreach with his parents across the southwestern United States and singing duets with his sister Phyllis from the age of three.

The Family DTS is off to an amazing start, and God's favor is clearly with our school and students. Not only have we been blessed by whom God has brought as students and staff, but we also have had great favor with regard to our teachers, among them Darlene and Loren Cunningham and David Hamilton.

The world as we know it today is over sexualised. The children of today grow up in a world distorted by sexual perversities, and most of them think that is normal. That is the background for The Sexual Reformation Seminar Series that was held at University of the Nations, Kona, Hawaii in March.
